Community Guidelines

New South Wales, Australia

Welcome to the Grounded Parenting community, a place for parents and carers to share, ask questions and support each other through the early years. These Community Guidelines explain how we keep it safe, kind and helpful. They form part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and by using the community you agree to follow them. Where our Terms of Service refer to our "community guidelines", they mean these Guidelines.

1.Be kind and respectful

Please treat other members the way you would want to be treated. You must not:

  1. (a)
    harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone;
  2. (b)
    use hateful, discriminatory or demeaning language, including about a person’s race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or family or parenting choices; or
  3. (c)
    shame, pile on or attack other members.

Parenting is personal and people will disagree - please disagree respectfully.

2.Sharing photos and your child’s images

Anything you share can be seen by other members, so please share thoughtfully. You must:

  1. (a)
    only share photos and content that you have the right to share;
  2. (b)
    think carefully before posting images of a child, including your own, and consider their privacy;
  3. (c)
    not post photos of, or identifying information about, another person’s child without their parent’s or carer’s consent; and
  4. (d)
    not share details that could identify or locate a child in a way that could put them at risk.

3.Keep health discussions safe

The community is for sharing experiences and support, not professional medical advice. Please share your own experience rather than presenting it as advice or a diagnosis for someone else’s child, encourage others to see a health professional or use the "Ask an OT" feature for concerns, and never share information that is false or dangerous.

4.Protect everyone’s privacy

Do not share another person’s personal or health information without their consent, and do not post contact details, addresses or other private information. Remember that your posts and comments are shown with your display name and photo.

5.Keep it safe and legal

You must not post content that is unlawful or encourages others to break the law; is sexual, explicit or pornographic; promotes or glorifies self-harm, suicide, eating disorders or violence; is a scam or is misleading; or infringes another person’s intellectual property or other rights.

6.Protecting children - zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for any content that sexualises, exploits, endangers or is otherwise harmful to a child.

  1. (a)
    We will remove such content immediately, terminate the accounts involved, and report it to the relevant authorities, including law enforcement and the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE), as appropriate.
  2. (b)
    If you see content that sexualises or endangers a child, report it to us immediately using the in-app report tool.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 000.

7.No spam, advertising or self-promotion

Do not post unsolicited advertising, promotions, sales or recruitment (including multi-level marketing), or repetitive or irrelevant content, and do not use the community to harvest members’ information or move them off the platform.

8.Reporting and blocking

If you see something that breaks these Guidelines, report it using the in-app report tool. Reports are reviewed by our team and are confidential from other members. You can also block another member at any time, so their content no longer appears to you and yours no longer appears to them.

9.Moderation and consequences

We may moderate the community and, acting reasonably, remove content, give warnings, restrict posting, limit how widely a post is shown, or suspend or ban an account that breaches these Guidelines or our Terms. Serious breaches, especially anything involving child safety, may result in immediate removal, a permanent ban and a report to the authorities. We cannot monitor everything, and moderating content does not make us responsible for what others post.

10.Changes and contact

We may update these Guidelines from time to time and will post the updated version in the App. To report content, use the in-app report tool. For other questions, contact us at contact@groundedparenting.app or through the in-app support inbox.
